Solar Heating (Solar Thermal)
This type of free energy can be collected all year round. April to October is the optimum solar yield but energy can be collected in overcast conditions. Standard collectors mounted onto a domestic property can provide up to 70% of the hot water requirements.
The collectors can be roof mounted, integrated into the roof or self supported, giving you the option to maximise the space of your specific project.
Key Components
• Collectors – piped fluid is heated from solar energy
• Storage Unit – normally a dual coil cylinder, to use with conventional
system
• Control panel, pump unit and expression vessel – controls the flow from
the collector
