| 14/04/2009 | Press Release COUNCIL chiefs have shown they’re keen to be green by installing a £30,000 eco-friendly boiler at Wat Tyler Park’s new Heritage Centre, yesterday. The heating unit, fixed in place, by Morgan Cass at the £2.3million centre, is currently being built by Basildon Council within the country park, off Pitsea Hall Lane. The boiler, which was shipped in from Austria, will be fuelled by woodchips and bio-crops, harvested just 500 metres away. It is just one of a number of green energy methods to be used at the carbon-neutral heritage centre, which is due to open to the public this summer.
